Issue
I want to decode the below time format in kernel logs. Is there any notes to understand how to break below time stamp to min:sec:msec format. <3>[ 107.236115]
<4>[ 107.521858]
<3>[ 107.522098]
Found some scripts to decode which are working but on runtime, here I already have along and want to decode manually.
Solution
The format is simple <N>
means the log level is N
, then inside of []
there is a time in seconds from the system boot. So [ 107.245076]
means it's 107 seconds and 245076 micro seconds = 1 min 47 s 245 ms
.
Keep in mind, however, that this is not the wall clock time, it's time when kernel was running. It may stop if system is suspended which is quite common on embedded devices, especially Android based.
