[SOLVED] error when creating a pipenv virtual environment with python 3.7

Issue

My OS is ubuntu 20.04 and my default python is 3.8.2. I'm trying to create a virtual environment with pipenv and python 3.7. The following error occurs when I run pipenv install --python 3.7:

Why is this happening?

Solution

Did you install the python3-distutils package ? If not you can install it with :

 sudo apt-get install python3-distutils
